A strong emotional storyteller
Born in the Athens of Finland, Jyväskylä, Sakari learned filmmaking with his parents’ VHS equipment and computer animation on his own. These interests led to a career-making job in a 3D-company, at the tender age of 15.
After that Sakari travelled to Paris to start working as a filmmaker - and the journey has brought him through Venice, Milan, Prague, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam to London where he lives. For now.
Along the way Sakari became an accomplished choreographer. It shows strongly in his work as does vivid emotions, stylized visuals and storytelling, which favours strong cinematic allegories.
Sakari has been selected as the best international young artist by Le5Venice, Venice Biennale. He also won the Finnish Music Video Award for Le Roi in 2014.
Besides being a globally known director he still claims to be Finnish.
